Since the late ’90s, The Sapphire Sisters’ Daughters of Our Mothers Festival has provided an annual opportunity for female-identifying musicians to find strength in harmony and sisterhood in song. And the coming together of this sacred community of esoteric folk musicians may never have been so important as it is this year. Just read the news, you guys. Now is a time for us to be marching, joining hands, setting cop cars on fire, and above all lifting our voices to sing. Because whether you’re a son, a daughter, a sister, a grandmother, or a father – we’re all daughters of our mothers.
This year’s line-up includes headliners The Sapphire Sisters, with special guests January Schonfeld and more!

The Sapphire Sisters are a creation of Lost Moon Radio and the festival features the talents of Jen Burton, Martha Marion, Lauren Flans, Leslie Korein, Lauren Ludwig, Jamie Hultgren, Ryan Harrison, Frank Smith, Dan Oster, Mikey Wells, Dylan Ris, Brandon Baruch, Dave McKeever, and Tori Lyon.
La Weekly has named And the Drum — the immersive, experimental theater and dance production co-written by Lost Moon Radio’s own Lauren Ludwig and Martha Marion, produced by Monica Miklas, and based on Martha’s poetry — as one of the five “coolest and most creative experimental” works produced in Los Angeles in 2016. Nice! So let the record show, it’s not all novelty songs and yuk-’em-ups from Lost Moon company members. Sometimes they also make avant-garde theater, and when they do, it is ACCLAIMED.
You can read the full write-up here.

Big news! (If you are a Lost Moon fan and enjoy the medium of television.) TruTV has just announced the debut of a new half-hour series, Rachel Dratch’s Late Night Snack, presenting “a carousel of premium comedy segments curated by and premiering on TruTV.”
These segments include limo-based relationship advice from Alec Baldwin, a long-awaited star vehicle for Benjamin the Cat, and “Passive Aggressive History,” a painstakingly researched* series of docudramas chronicling every eye roll, backhanded compliment, and clench-toothed smile behind the iconic events that shaped our world — written by and starring the cast of Lost Moon Radio.
That’s us, you guys! We’re going to be on this show! On television! Adjacent to but not actually interacting with Alec Baldwin!
Honestly, we’re as surprised as you are. More details, teaser images, etc. coming soon. Late Night Snack premieres Thursday, March 3rd, at 11 p.m Eastern/Pacific, right after Those Who Can’t. So set your VCR’s and mark your paper calendars or whatever.
*By “painstakingly researched,” we mean 100% made-up.

We’re headed to the always fabulous Hollywood Fringe Festival for our fourth year, and we’re bringing a brand-new show: Million Dollar Hair. Come celebrate the life and death of fictional music icon Bernie Schonfeld in this unforgettable tribute concert. Over five decades in the industry, the groundbreaking music producer, record label owner, and amateur homeopath made history with his nontraditional taste and unforgettable haircut. Learn of his adventures (and scandals!) from the rock stars, legends, and family members who knew Bernie best in this song (and joke!) filled evening. If you combined Dylan going electric with the premiere of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring and poured it over the Beatles at Shea Stadium, that event wouldn’t be half as big as Million Dollar Hair.
Needless to say, we’re super excited to be returning to the festival where we nabbed two “Best of Comedy” awards and the 2012 “Top of the Fringe” prize. Get your tickets now for one of our nine performances!
